Quote

"You might as well ask an artist to explain his art, or ask a poet to explain his poem. It defeats the purpose. The meaning is only clear through the search."- Rick Riordan

Photographs tell a Story

In this article they try to get across the point of making a story with a picture. The few pictures in this are beautifully taken. In each of them you can see the thinking behind what was going on. It said to make sure when your taking a picture to try and think of ways to see a story and try and capture it with as little shots as possible. You also have to make sure that you have the technical details down because art can't take over if you can't tell whats in the picture.

3 artists assignment

http://www.mymodernmet.com/profiles/blogs/lukas-holas
The first artist I picked is Lukas Holas he's a photographer and he took pictures of animals in black and white. These pictures are amazing they are very crisp and clear. The black and white just brings out the image even more then it would in regular color.

This next one is beautiful underwater pictures. I love these pictures because of the amazing colors that come from being underwater. The blues in these pictures are absoultly breath taking. These pictures actually look like they are frozen in time.

The last one I picked is the sand paintings that someone created by hand. The colors are very vibrant and seam to pop out at you. The designs are also really pretty and kind of hypnotizing.

Artist Statement
Alyssa Rowell

I’m in photography because although I’ve never liked being the center of the picture, I’ve always liked taking them.  Ever sense I was little people would stop me to take their picture. I guess I kind of liked it. I love the way people light up when they see a good picture.  I don’t know if it is something that I could end up doing for the rest of my life but it could definitely be a possibility. I also think it is quite fun to take pictures because you just have to wait for the perfect opportunity.

My favorite way to take a picture is without flash. I think the more natural the picture can be the better it will turn out. I especially like taking pictures of animals because you can’t just snap one or two. When you’re taking the picture you have to wait for the perfect opportunity and when you finally get it you can’t imagine how amazing it feels. If I’m outside I love it when the sun is setting and just about to get dark. The light is so beautiful and it makes some of the prettiest pictures. On the other hand when you are inside I prefer a closer shot I don’t want the background to be very noticeable. I would rather have whatever I’m taking a picture of to be alone against something solid and then just a regular light.

The last thing I did was do the framing and rule of thirds. Rule of thirds was my second time taking picture of cats and I thought they really turned out well. I think if anything I’m challenging my patience because you really have to take a lot of pictures. You have to kind of set up the perfect opportunity as well. Some of the best pictures I took I kind of started the chain of events that lead to the picture.
